This day was quite long as we went to see Nordeste and “got lost” in the middle of our way.
We started by visiting a pineapple plantation.
After that we went up north to see Salto do Cabrito, a waterfall with a small powerplant. You can walk along the reservoir and go above the waterfall on a wooden staircase.
On our way to Nordeste we ended up at Vale das Lombadas mostly by curiosity. The road was wavy and long and cobblestone in places you would not expect. It got narrower and narrower, and we were not sure if and where could we turn around, and our car was tiny…
We heard a waterfall but could not see it fully, and after leaving the car at the end of the road, it became clear that you need a proper hike gear to get to the waterfall. Instead, we only saw an abandoned building and a small river.
After that we went back up to the hill we came from and turned to northeast at the first junction to the direction of Nordeste.
This was the first time for both of us to visit Nordeste, which a very cute small city with a fancy bridge. We walked around twice and ate before turning back.
It started to get dark. We had problem with the radio in the car as we lost every station now and then. We made a try with the CD player (!) and found one compilation CD left in the car by Filipe with the best/worst/funniest Spanish music. When we heard the first song, we were laughing so hard it is a miracle we have not had a accident.
