We are now on the west coast of the island of Sao Miguel, where you can swim in the warm water in a bay.
Castelo de S Jorge
On the first really nice day, I walked to the castle, which is most worth going up because of the view. The line meandering at the entrance was a little daunting, but it was moving fast. The castle is open, with only a café and a museum inside. Inside, it resembles the Maltese San Anton Garden a bit: you can walk on similar fragmented stone slabs. There are fewer flowers, but more peacocks.
