Fifth day, Tuesday, April 30, Badoca safari park

Where are we now?

Since there was good weather after exploring Sines, we went to the Badoca safari park, which we had already checked out for ourselves because of the lemurs.

We couldn’t interact with lemurs, and we couldn’t take pictures ourselves. You have to leave all your belongings at the entrance and sit away from each other. With your empty palm turned upwards, you must wait for a lemur monkey to come and climb on you. More precisely, not by themselves, because their caregiver lures them there with food. They don’t really notice you, you’re just a new tree trunk for them to climb up and reach for food. But they are friendly, very soft and silky, and have warm bodies.

Then came the safari – before closing at half past six – where a few dozen people travel in small cars attached to a tractor and visit ostriches, hyenas, antelopes, buffaloes, among others. The biggest attractions were the giraffes, who unfortunately did not come to the car, they only watched us from a distance.

By six o’clock in the evening we were back at the hotel and had our farewell dinner.
