Where are we now?

On Tuesday, the 17th, I walked to Belém, which is 7km from the accommodation. Along the way, I ran into an Árpád Szenes museum, which I had never heard of in my life …

I crossed under the bridge …

..and I also entered a former factory site called LX Factory, where there are now restaurants and shops with lots of graffiti.

And the April 25th Bridge (named after a revolution in ’74) and the traffic on it are constantly buzzing … Here a cool breeze was blowing on the shore, but it was already possible to burn in the sun.

Here you can relax in the shade of a new observation deck covered with ceramic tiles.

Then comes the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Explorers), which is 50 meters high but very narrow at the top.

Only 3 people can be fit crosswise and no more than 20 in length. An elevator goes up, so approx. six people can go up at once and you can come downstairs. Since I left that day after four hours of sleep, I really fell asleep here, but I wasn’t allowed to miss …
