We arrived at the last stop in Portugal, the second largest city in the country, Porto. Although the city has a population of only 240,000, including the suburbs and other surrounding areas, it is already 1.8 million.
Now we go to the island of Sao Jorge, which is located opposite Pico. The 246 square kilometers cover just over nine thousand people.
So, as I promised, I’ll write about Pico in a little more detail, given that I was lucky enough to climb as well.
I’m on vacation right now within the “vacation,” which means I don’t work exceptionally, and I came for a week to the island of Pico, where there’s hardly any phone / internet signal strength, luckily.
It is safe to say that they have brought out everything that can be made from a single fruit. It is said to be pineapple and not orange because the orange groves were eradicated by a disease. The fruit has been given an own, small museum, where the history and tools of fruit growing are […]
One of the benefits of hostel life beyond cheapness is that you can meet great people. We are now on the west coast of the island of Sao Miguel, where you can swim in the warm water in a bay.
Dolphin and whale watching didn’t do anything brilliant, mostly because I managed to pick a pretty grey day. If nothing else, it’s good for one to see the island from a little further afield.
Probably Terra Nostra is the most beautiful botanical garden in the world.
After the entrance, we will be greeted by Mr José do Canto.
The flight from Lisbon is less than three hours. I only noticed at the airport that I was going on a plane which were going to Toronto, Canada after landing.
On my penultimate day in Lisbon, I thought I was getting up to make one of my childhood dreams come true: to walk along a real, kilometre-long beach …
The Botanical Garden of the University of Lisbon is 140 years old and 40,000 square meters. Unfortunately, one part was just closed due to renovations. The pictures speak for themselves, there is not much to add 🙂
